Cut and sewn by hand in our Portland, Maine shop, this soft flying disc is built from 24 oz organic cotton canvas duck — one of the heaviest natural fabrics used in any dog toy on the market. At 12 inches across, it's sized for medium and large dogs who play for real: the kind who launch off the ground, land hard, and immediately want to go again.

Each disc is stuffed with post-consumer recycled water bottles — landfill-bound waste turned into a lightweight, crinkly fill your dog will love. The bottles keep the disc soft on catch, with no hard plastic edges, and that satisfying crinkle makes it something dogs want to carry around and mouth long after the fetch session winds down.

On every toss, the disc flutters gently back to earth, giving your dog just enough hang time to track, leap, and make the grab.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this safe for aggressive chewers?

The 24 oz canvas is significantly heavier than standard dog toy fabric and holds up well to hard play. No soft toy is indestructible, so supervise play and inspect the disc regularly if your dog is a determined chewer.

What's the fill made of?

Post-consumer recycled plastic water bottles — clean, intact, and crinkly. No foam, polyfill, or synthetic batting.

Is the canvas actually organic?

Yes. We use GOTS-certified organic cotton canvas duck. The fabric carries organic certification at the ingredient level; the finished toy does not carry a separate finished-product certification.

Can this disc get wet?

Yes — it handles beach and lake play well. Canvas is a tight weave that will naturally repel water, but will eventually absorb if left lying in water.  Leave in sun to dry.  Do not place in dryer.

Does it float?

The recycled-bottle fill provides some buoyancy in calm water. It's not a dedicated water retrieval toy, but it floats briefly and works well near the water's edge.

What size dogs is this best for?

The 12-inch diameter is ideal for medium to large dogs. Smaller dogs can enjoy it, though they may find it harder to carry.  However we have seen a few chihuahua's running around with the disk in their mouth!

Why does my disc look slightly different from the photo?

Every disc is handmade in our Portland shop, so small variations in stitching and fabric texture are natural and expected — part of what makes each one unique.

How do I clean it?

Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap and air dry completely. Heavy cotton canvas duck is naturally water-resistant, so it doesn't absorb soap and water the way lighter fabrics do — and machine washing puts unnecessary stress on the hand-sewn seams. Spot cleaning is genuinely the better method here, not just a precaution.
