RESEARCH SHOWS ADOPTED CHILDREN HAVE UNIQUE AREAS OF VULNERABILITY.MANY ADOPTED CHILDREN CARRY DEEP FEELINGS OF INSECURITY AND THE INABILITY TO FEEL THEY BELONG.Adoptees have a family history, but they are acutely aware that it is not truly their own history. They often feel that they must be good, or even perfect, so that they will not be rejected again. Adoptees are shown to be more vulnerable to loss, rejection, abandonment, loneliness, fear, anger, depression, and psychosomatic problems.
